Lockhart Seminar posts success

CORPUS CHRISTI – When over 100 ladies participated in all or some portion of the Reconciled and Renewed Seminar held at their work release facility in Lockhart and many responded, Prison Minister, Buck Griffith called the April 27-29 effort a success.
During the “Guardrails & Boundaries” workshop, the women responded in these ways: • Six requested baptism.
• 42 enrolled in mail-in Bible studies.
• 41 others asked for prayer, rededicating their lives to Christ.
• Ten sought to be restored.
Said Griffith, “During the seminar, we do a lot of teaching, but also a lot of singing. The Lockhart students responded enthusiastically. A large number were already enrolled in our Bible Correspondence School. Our team did an outstanding job and we appreciate each one.”
A privately-owned company, Management Training Corporation runs this prison for females. Many inmates work in the community and are nearing release, which lends itself to a positive environment for change.
According to Griffith, this event marks the fifteenth year for Kings Crossing Prison Ministries to conduct the seminar. He concluded, “We are grateful to Chaplain Peter Lawson and the prison staff for their hospitality.”
