Young men apply training at Edinburg

EDINBURG – The church here has been entrusting the things they “have heard … to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others” (NIV 2 Tim. 2:1). Recently, three young men took the opportunity to bring the lessons, according to Betty Vega.
Said Vega, “Thanks be to God because we see His heavenly purpose in them, constantly yearning to grow spiritually, and with that zeal to serve the Lord.”
Caleb Fuentes taught his first Bible class to his peers on “What God Expects from Us.” He based it on “Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity” from I Tim. 4:12.
Alex Vega, Jr., is a new young brother who recently come to the program. In his first class, he taught the young people about “The Purpose of the Coming of Christ” from John 18:37. Addressing Pilate, Jesus says, “For this purpose I was born and for this purpose I have come into the world—to bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth listens to my voice.”
Since he has taught the youth group Bible class before, Abel Lopez appreciated the practice. He brought the lesson, “Honor Your Father and Mother” from Eph. 6:13.
Elder David Vanegas and others have been working with the young people, fostering the spiritual growth it takes to present a lesson. Regarding the program, Vega says, “We are trusting in the Lord that He will provide them with spiritual growth and wisdom, so that what they teach will be the precise Word of God. And not only that, but also, that they will be living examples.”
Juan Luna and Edilfonso Rodríguez preach for the church, who entreats, “We ask for your prayers for our youths and every young person who is willing to serve the Lord around the world.”
